I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Waitrose (London, England) in Mar 2016
Interview
Applied online when I saw it on their website, 1/2 weeks later received an email asking to book a slot for a one-to-one interview and group assessment and their assessment store.
Once completed and the day came, they took all of us into one room, took our right to work proof (passports) and told us to fill out a form about our details, what time we can work and our uniform sizes, we were then separated us into groups of 5 (there was 10 of us in total) the half I was with were directed to a assessment room.
in this assessment room we are giving details about different products Waitrose sell, and had to match them up with a description of a character, for example one guy had his daughter in the car and they were going on a long journey, and needed something less than 60p for his daughter to eat, so we had to match this description up with a product they sell. We were given 5 minutes to ourselves to read, then make notes, afterwards we are given 15 minutes or so to discuss with other people in our group about which products we think is best, then had to feedback to the two Waitrose staff observing the assessment. (Tip: Don't overpower others and talk too much but don't sit there completely quiet, they are constantly making notes and watching us)
After this we are taken back to a room, then individually called for our one-to-one interview. It was very straight forward with the typical interview questions about working for their company and how you can contribute
Once the interview is done, you are told to sign out and will be contacted within the next 2 weeks if successful or not.

Interview
WE went for a group interview, which I passed, then onto a one on one interview with the section manager which I passed and then received a telephone confirmation that I had been successful in my interview and I had impressed the manager of that section enough to hire me straight as a supervisor.
