Interview
The Waitrose interview process typically begins with an online application and a series of initial assessments, including situational judgment and personality tests aligned with the company’s values. This is often followed by a short telephone interview, lasting around 15–20 minutes, where you’re asked competency-based questions about your experience and motivation. Some candidates may also complete a pre-recorded video interview. The next stage is usually an assessment centre or group interview, where you’ll take part in team exercises designed to test your communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Tasks may include reviewing a mystery shopper report, role-playing customer service scenarios, or completing creative group challenges. You’ll likely have a one-to-one interview as well, where you’re expected to give examples of when you’ve demonstrated strong customer service, teamwork, or handled difficult situations. In some cases, you may also be asked to complete a short presentation or in-tray task. The entire process typically takes one to two weeks, and strong candidates will stand out by preparing thoughtful STAR-based answers, understanding the company’s values, and showing genuine enthusiasm for the role.

Interview
The interview process was very easy and the interviewer was super friendly and put me at ease. We were given thinking time. The written assessment was also very straightforward and just used mostly common sense to answer.
