I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Walgreens in Aug 2011
Interview
I did my application online and called the store the next day to check the status of my application. The manager invited me to the store the same day to complete the other half of the skills/personality test. I was invited back 2 days later for an interview at 3pm. The interview was easy and they asked me a few questions about my past work experience. Even though the interview went pretty well the two people that were interviewing me kept leaving the room for some unknown reason and the interview was held in the break room and the other employees kept coming into the room during my interview making me very nervous. After the interview the manager went on to tell me about the scheduling process and how much I would be paid an hour. The manager then went on to tell me that they would contact me within a few days with their decision. After waiting a few days I decided to call myself and was told that he had already sent the new hires down to the clinic for a drug test. I did not get the job and this interviewing experience taught me that I can’t just go by how friendly the interviewer was or how well the interview went.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Walgreens (Chicago, IL) in Jul 2009
Interview
This was my first job. I was 16 years old, I have an aunt who is a manager in a surrounding store. Walgreens works like that sort of, more of who you know and not what you know if you are first starting out. I did an online application, got a call from the store manager and went in. It was pretty simple, he asked rountine questions. He told me how they normally try for older employees because of labor laws etc. but he was impressed by my focus and maturity. I was set up on a IQ/Skills test and background/drug test and was working within a week and a half.
