I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Walgreens in Jul 2014
Interview
It takes about 3 weeks to get into the Walgreen's company on the store level, even when the store manager has said that the specific store is desperately in need of a few new people right away. The online application is very long but it can be completed in your home or at the store. However, you have to go into the store to complete more online testing and then finally you can meet with the manager for a moment to schedule an interview and get the questions that you have answered. Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Will you accept a lower position to start with minimum pay and work your way up in the company over time?
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walgreens (Orlando, FL) in Dec 2010
Interview
First, you must fill out the application online. Then if you receive a call back, you will schedule a time to come in to the Central Pharmacy Operations office. You will need to dress in business attire and bring copies of your resume, license, social security card and any degrees, certifications, licenses, etc. that you have. Be prepared with simple medical terminology, simple pharmaceutical terminology, days supply, have strong math skills, be capable of reading extremely sloppy, if not impossible handwriting. You will be interviewed by 2 or 3 different people back to back. If you continue on past this point, you will then take a test on the computer to test not only your typing speed, but also your ability to enter data from prescriptions into the system correctly and efficiently. You will be given pencil and paper and a calculator for this part. The math is simple. After this point, your test scores will be evaluated while you wait in another room, then you will be called back and told if you obtained a position with the company or not.

Question 1
Prescription SIGS. This is an entry level position that does not require a medical background. However you need to know what things like PO, HS, QD mean.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Walgreens in Feb 2011
Interview
Walgreens uses behavioral interviewing. They will ask a complex question about how you went out of your way to help a customer or resolved a difference with a fellow employee. And are looking for Situation, Plan, Implementation, Result as an answer and remember to be specific. Use peoples names and places and don't worry about using examples where plans didn't work, those can be good too

Question 1
Don't let wording get you off your planned responses. Like if you have a great example about a customer interaction and they ask about your most difficult customer interaction. Don't change your answer, change their question. Something like: I don't really see situations like that. I do my best with every customer and here is an example of that. (this is greatly abbreviated btw).
