I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walgreens in Oct 2010
Interview
Submitted my resume through a recruiter during a job fair at my university. I received a call a few days later to set up a 1:1 interview with a manager. I arrived a few minutes late to the interview because of some unexpected road construction around the store I was interviewing at (I still called to let them know, even though I was only about 5 minutes late). When I arrived, the clerk alerted the manager and he came out to meet me. He took me into the back room and informed me that I had to take a skills assessment first and foremost before he could conduct the interview. He set me up on a computer in the photo lab and I finished the skill assessment 30 minutes later. The manager then led me back into the back room to conduct the interview. I can't remember many of the questions, but many of them were behavioral and situational based. As I answered his questions, I couldn't help but notice that he was pretty apathetic and didn't seem very interested in conducting the interview.
Once finished, the manager informed me that, if offered a position, I was not going to be starting out as a management trainee because he found that most of the college graduates were completely unprepared to fulfill the position. Instead, I would have to start from the very bottom as a cashier and work my way up into management. He then gave me his card and said he'd be in touch. After going through the most awkward interview of my life, I was incredibly angry. I felt like they had wasted my time and were completely dishonest with me. It was probably one of the most rude, unprofessional interviews I'd ever experienced. I was happy when I didn't receive a call back.

Question 1
Mostly behavioral and situational based questions. Definitely have some past experiences you can draw from to make answering these questions much easier (whether it be from job or school organization experience).

I was asked about handling stressful situations, situations that could escalate and get out of hand ect.

Question 1
Nothing was difficult. The store manager conducted the interview and he was laid back and friendly. I think they do look for intelligence, good problem solving skills and people who pay attention to detail for the pharmacy staff.
