I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart
Interview
I showed initial interest and applied during a Job Fair at my college when I one year out from graduating. A couple of days later I received an phone call from the Recruiter to setup a phone interview. I had my initial phone interview with the same Recruiter. It was basic questions to get an idea if I was a company fit (nothing technical). After I completed 3 online skill tests and took a drug test. All in all the process was pain less and easy.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart (Bentonville, AR) in Jul 2011
Interview
The position was for a C/C# programmer. The interview consists of 2 rounds - a phone interview and an on-site interview(which was sponsored by Wal-mart). The phone interview was more technical and consisted of some basic technical questions. Just a basic understanding of the C language will do. Questions were very basic (which is the one function that has to appear in every program). They only need a beginner. The on-site interview consisted of the benefits preview followed by two-rounds of interview. The first one being behavioral (technical related - Describe a situation where you handled a major problem) and the second being another technical (similar to the phone interview - covered some more topics like DB - what is inner join? ) followed by a few HR related questions (What do you like about Wal-mart ?). This was followed by an informal community tour for an hour and a half. On the entirety, the interview was not difficult to crack and requires only a basic knowledge of the language.
