Wolt interview questions

Nice interviews, but I felt like the whole recruiting process was artificially dragged out. When it came to the assignment, the tasks were so extensive that I refused to work on them because I felt Wolt was making their applicants work for them for free to filter out the best concepts and ideas. So be careful if this seems unusual to you. Also, it seems that common courtesy would dictate that any applicant would at least be allowed to present their slides without awaiting approval from the hiring team. After all, they (and I) would have invested time and energy. In my eyes, an absolute no go.

I got a chance to go through an interview process at Wolt in July 2021. The interview process was pretty straight forward and quickly done. I appreciate Severi (HR) for providing me smooth interview journey. The process includes 4 steps: 1- HR Call (to check a match for a job role) 2- Managerial Call (technical) 3- Take home assignment (no deadline as such) 4- Detailed Technical Interview (discussion on assignment and other technical questions) The interview overall was easy and pretty straightforward. The assignment step is very crucial at Wolt and your success rate is mostly based on it. I was highly disappointed by the feedback provided at the final stage that I have limited software engineering experience. I believe this kind of feedback should be given at the first stage to save time for both the candidate and interviewers. Regarding the assignment, extra functionalities aren't acknowledged by interviewers. They took it as a negative point. They also mentioned in the task that candidates can do it in any language and framework but don't welcome them. e.g I added the persistence layer and typing in the assignment as extra functionalities and did it with Django but I got feedback that usage of Django and the implementation felt a bit overkill for the task. If they want to see a specific tech stack, they should mention it in the task.
