The contract company submitted my resume and then setup and interview the next day. The interview was with my supervisor. I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Xerox in Jun 2010
Interview
Interviewed and felt very good about the opportunity. Led to believe offer would be extended. 5 months later and still no offer. Still hopeful, as economy has hindered hiring everywhere, but discouraged by the long process. Interviewers looking for evidence of "real sales experience". I think Xerox believes that their industry and company are the only real sales environments out there. Be prepared to show you track record in hunting down opportunities and growing a territory. Ask questions of them about path of progression, training, service response time, etc
