Pros

There aren't any pros to working at ABB

Cons

Everything about this company is a con. Worst company I have ever worked for in the 25 years I have been in the work force.

Pros

- Colleagues are good - Free Parking

Cons

1) Bad onboarding, Very little to zero induction into the job role and expect to carry out miracles. 2) Not enough training was provided for the role as I was not from an electrical background. s. 3) Micromanagement, if you are in the office. they will ask to visit customers when you are visiting customers they expect you to be in the office. 4) Ongoing jobs were not handed over to me when took over customer key accounts. 5) No guidance in daily job and your role. 6) Terminated my contract even before the probation was over, reason said that was performing up to standard within 3 months. asked the management if they practiced extending probation, was told that ABB does not practice extending probation 7) My last advice to future employees applying for this role. please be aware of the factor you might be cut off suddenly without any warning.

Pros

Great 401(k) match, flexibility, work from home, the learning opportunities are limitless, because ABB doesn't backfill, so it's a great resume builder but see cons.

Cons

They don't backfill so you end up doing the work of 4 people. The systems are a disaster - they never fully integrate acquisitions like Baldor (2011), Thomas & Betts (2012) and GEIS (2018) so it's an absolute mess. There are 3 different systems you have to navigate and each system has a completely different set of rules of how it works. This creates absolute chaos within the organization. They are not good at communicating to employees either. Group (Swiss HQ) does not understand the US market or benefits and therefore has a difficult time being successful in the US.
