Pros

Pay is better however with how they treat you it’s really not that good.

Cons

Worst company to work for, training is awful, moving systems and no one knows how to do your job, you get out in training with all new people from different departments however every department does different things so it never relates, managers don’t want to help, big turn over, 6 people left that started on the same day as me before myself. Blame culture, want you to know your job by 1 week of being live, if not you get performance managed with no help. Told to self serve to learn, if you ask for help from a colleague your manager says your taking them from their job. Surely costs more to get new people in, not train them correctly and then they leave. Also like an English class more focused on gramma and size of font or how many decimal points then the actual work.

Pros

They pay is decent for a retail job.

Cons

They refuse to properly staff their stores and expect employees to work at an outrageous pace and will time you on everything you do in order to cut costs on labor and avoid hiring more people. The district managers are almost always young, freshly graduated college students who know nothing about what it’s actually like work in the store and will point out problems that you don’t have the time or staff to properly fix. All of the issues that the district managers constantly bring up about store conditions, cleanliness, product availability, etc could be easily resolved if they simply had more employees on staff to do all of these tasks. They don’t care about the employees at all. We didn’t get a store discount and as an assistant store manager I didn’t even get any bonuses, only the store manager, even though the ASMs contributed just as much to the store’s success. They preach about how work life balance is so important to their staff but God forbid you had someone callout and can’t find coverage and then you’re having to work twice as hard and staying way past your scheduled shift to cover for it. This company is a complete joke and treats their employees like soulless machines and doesn’t take into account that we all have bad days.

Only good thing about Aldi is the pay

Pros

The pay is good, this will be the only reason you stay.

Cons

* Training is minimal or non existant, yet you're expected to perform well. * Don't bother complaining or suggesting how to make things better, you are incredibly voiceless in this company. Never have I felt more like just a number. * Aldi are so desperate to keep staff, they keep unproductive or disruptive people, which contribute to an unhappy work environment. * The curent focus is entirely on customer feedback, with incredibly heavy pressure on staff to tackle all areas of this. Aldi should also take care of their staff. I see only more stress and rules enforced. Being given a pay rise is nice, but does not help with the stress and pressure of this job, it's a cop out. * 9 out of 10 shifts are stressful, and impossible to get everything basic done, let alone the additional things aldi are piling on. * If you don't meet targets or requirements, Aldi bully you until you do. I have witnessed this over the years and it seems to be getting worse. * I've been waiting 3 years for my annual review. Aldi time is so tight, they don't have the time to look after their staff.
