Pros

Insurance benefits and co workers

Cons

Work load is ridiculous, pulling you in a hundred directions, work life ratio is way off. They push you so hard that sometimes I would pull up in the morning and ask myself "do you need this job that bad" after 5 1/2 years I walked away and it's like a boulder was lifted off my chest.

Associate to manager

Pros

Great pay and benefits, major holidays off and paid for them. All around it's a wonderful company to work for. Its very busy and the days go by fast. Always moving

Cons

Manaher premium is nice when you are manager. But when you are an associate you are expected to do everything managers already do. Lots of lazy employees that are making the same associate pay as you and they do half the work. They also get the same raise when it's not deserved.

Pros

I worked for Aldi for a couple months short of 5 years. I worked tons of overtime and all stores within the area. Hours are available if you look for them and make a name for yourself. I was able to get promoted after my 3rd year but could have sooner. The benefits Aldi offers are amazing. Health insurance and 401k.

Cons

Aldi's prides itself on caring about their employees, but over the years I have seen them care less and less. Bonuses were taken away from store associates and shift managers. The vacation, sick and personal days were changed and combined to the point where you get less time off. They add more and more responsibilities to the job title but the pay does not increase. I was a hard worker and loved the fast paced days, but it became stressful with the limited help they schedule. There were times where I ran an entire store with one other person on busy sunday evenings in cascade or grand rapids area. Everyone gets overworked which leads to more call offs and everyone being stressed out. The corporate system of aldi does not care for the people in the stores because they are expendable. But even the District managers are feeling the stress because I saw 3 DM turnarounds in one year. With better leadership and appreciation of employees at the bottom, I would recommend Aldi to others, but not once did I take advantage of the employee referral program because I wouldnt recommend someone to work there lightheartedly , even with the small bonus they give you. You will have no type of personal life, which is the tradeoff for the crazy overtime opportunity.
