Pros

Flexible company, would always accomodate changing schedules and limited roster workers. Excess of opportunity to move into management position within stores.

Cons

Upper management (out of stores) are a bit out of touch with the daily requirements in store. Some stores would struggle to deliver what management required despite best efforts, as staffing budget is highly constrained.

Pros

The pay compared to similar jobs was better, and the work is intense which means you learn a lot fast, with many challenging situations daily to learn from

Cons

Feel underpaid from what you actually do day in day out. The job description of the lowest level of management is almost identical to that of THE store manager, yet the pay difference is phenomenal. The shifts are also very long and gruelling and overtime is every day. There were no thank you's or appreciative comments however; only if you make the slightest mistake will there. be feedback. Also.. 12 hour shift? 8 hour shift? 14 hour shift? You get 30 minutes regardless. Even more stressful when you're the duty manager and the manager bell is going off every few minutes and you have to reheat your food again and again and again. Many many more things to say far worse, but this alone is enough

Pros

Fellow colleagues are all that will get you through

Cons

You are just a number. If you dont do what they want they will just get rid i have seen it many times. This place treats employees like dirt. Even through this corona virus pandemic this was the only supermarket to not pay staff for any time off to self isolate even if they lived with someone who was confirmed to have it.
