Pros

The people I work alongside are wonderful, very cheery and help out when you need it Customers are generally lovely, granted, there are the unhappy few

Cons

The store I work at is understaffed, and even when we have staff there are a lot of things that go wrong; self checkout tills constantly giving bagging errors for no reason, scan & go guns freeze or crash entirely which leaves customers with huge shops understandably upset as they have to rescan everything at self checkout or go to a main bank till - just to name a couple. I was hired as a checkout operator but ended up monitoring the self checkout area (I prefer this), and then further was trained on kiosk and ultimately some customer service desk tasks. The store stopped having a dedicated customer service employee after 6pm so the kiosk can get very busy at times. The main bank tills often close because the operators finish at 8/9pm some nights which leaves customers upset with having no option but to use the self checkouts which are a buggy mess 80% of the time.
