Pros

10% discount, sometimes 20%, like at Christmas

Cons

generally bad management - lack of honesty, no respect for the individual, no communication, blame culture/scapegoat culture, nepotism, lying to themselves about availability, sales, budget - the well known visits when the shop looks perfect vs. a usual day with cut budget when shelves are empty and colleagues sent home early, some stores will deliberately keep colleagues misinformed about attendance, hours worked, benefits policies, some stores will not pay the normal rate for a skilled job or will falsify training, jeopardizing health and safety.
