Pros

Great place to work in a buzzing environment They make time for some fun as well (not always) but better than nothing Flexibility is a pro with Asda, they allow breaks any point and you have the flex of your timing upon approval

Cons

You can end of doing more hours than contracted and you will not be paid however you can claim the time back but this effects work life balance There is a pay discrepancy in this business and in some areas it is noticeable by a margin

Pros

Staff are very friendly, enjoyed replenishing stock, enjoyed working nights because it's quiet and you can work faster, money is good working nights £9.24 after 10pm.

Cons

Asda don't provide full time hours unless your a Manager or Section Leader, No gloves provided after 2 weeks of working on frozen, hands would stick to the metal cages and I'd come home with skin peeling off my hands, only half of my uniform was provided in time for me to start, cages are very heavy for a petite young girl who had to take them off deliveries. I would have 8/9 cages and I would have to take them one by one through the back yard, through the back warehouse and into the freezer without gloves and I don't have a huge amount of strength and not enough time, i really could have done with some help, I definitely would have stuck out the job if I did. In addition, the poor man that trained me had an AWOL which I understand is unacceptable but the fact that ASDA then used him for 2 days to train me and then sacked him is disgusting and I would never have expected this to happen. Also, he had a feeling he was being released and had never trained anyone before and wasn't trained to train someone. Therefore, I did not receive the correct training and had to basically learn everything by asking other colleagues as I was thrown in the deep end on my own. I also cannot get through to Asda as no email address is provided and the number doesn't let you select options on mobiles so I hope I am paid correctly otherwise I have no way of resolving this issue.
