Pros

Wages are on time. The only thing I can put because I have to use to use twenty words minimum to put this.

Cons

Lazy management with strong blame culture. A lot of young students work here. Managers see this as a "dating platform". "Dating" being a loose term. Low staff retention means section leaders try to run departments with little training. They get blamed = So do you. The Social media policy is damage control. Can be fired for any negative "talk" of the company. Booking holidays needs 2 weeks notice. Holidays have been denied the day before requested date. Constantly. Can't progress past section leader unless you're "friends" with a higher up. Hard to get a full time contract. Passed an inspection by regional whilst dealing with an infestation.(they must have forgot this from the store to the car park) The store is spotless when we have a visit on(the parts you can see, anyway). Yet not the rest of the time. Waste gets thrown in the compactor without being reported to keep numbers down. Chilled goods don't follow the 20 min rule. Can be left out for 45 to an hour. Staff coming in drunk/hungover due to inflexible hours/holiday requests denied

Pros

The colleagues at Asda that you have the opportunity to work alongside are what makes it such a great place to work. People are really committed to doing the right thing for the customer

Cons

Asda has changed over the years and more recently as times have got tough its lost some of the elements that made the business so successful. It no longer welcomes the same level of entrepreneurial spirit that it used to and has become more top down in its approach

Flexible working for students such as myself so this meant I got to work during holidays at university

Cons

The job was very mundane. Little opportunity to learn new things
