Pros

Not alot anymore. Great Colleagues to work with.

Cons

So many recently! Managers restructure that saw some very good and skilled managers leave but some not so skilled managers stay! The reduction in colleague's leaving stores looking unstocked with gaps in almost all aisles as we do not have enough colleagues to keep up with the work load. It's as if Head office forgets that customers are in the store and are asking colleagues where items are. They must think we just refill stock all day with nothing getting in our way. And on top of that most of our shop floor colleagues are on checkouts for most of the shift due to lack of colleagues for checkouts and queue build up. The company also makes a big fuss over area manager visits. If the store looks good it's only because the area manager is due to visit not because we want to WOW our customers. I think such visits should be out of the blue to keep stores in top condition all of the time. It's the customers we need to impress no the managers. Asda recently stopped its £20 gift card at Christmas for colleagues. This is a little thing that colleagues liked and it all helps for those who are not on full time contracts which are hard to get now. A new computer system and lack of tanning. Colleagues hate this new system due to this reason. Again it was another rushed feature and no thought.

Cons

Management don't try and help matters always say to go to someone else can't be asked most of the time and don't listen or take in anything colleges say any feed back is chucked on bed and I'm still on seasonal contract after working for 2 years doing 37.5 hours a week

Pros

There are some amazing colleagues that work there. Christmas is always fun, when people remember what's important. Customers are great. Some amazing experience in our stores too.

Cons

Long hours, 10 hour day minimum for management, told you can't go home until the shop is perfect. Poor working conditions, such as canteens being closed and left with all equipment in, but management are even blamed for this. Called on your holidays, contacted on your days off.
