Pros

The immediate team I worked with were great and the management of said team were always there to help as and when needed. I had really good work-life balance when working here. Could pick my hours and days in the office and immediate team trusted you to do your work wherever you chose to work from.

Cons

A large part of my negative experience was due to HR. After the interview process (initial phone call + 2 interviews) I said I wouldn’t hand in my notice at my current job til I received my contract. This took one month + after chasing on multiple occasions, so my start date was about 2/3 months after my initial interview. Other HR problems were constantly making mistakes with pay. They rectify it only to make the mistake again. This happened multiple times and I was there less than a year. I ended up working a lot of it out myself which was extra stress that wasn’t needed. The problems in the job were a mixture of things. Constant changing of processes without actually giving them time to see if they worked. In less than a year, we had about 4/5 different process changes.

Pros

You eventually get paid .

Cons

1. Insultingly-thankless (even for a minimum wage job). 2. Only time you get time of day is if you have done something wrong or the management want something from you. 3. If your store actually manages to make enough profit for you to get an annual bonus, it gets paid as a second wage which means you get taxed more a third of it. 4. If you finally start to take exception to how poorly you are treated, instead of sitting down and talking it out professionally, the management simply remind you how easily replaceable you are. 5. Work place disputes are settled by locking the staff members in a room together and letting them scream at eacother. 6. Each and every Section Leader training session at 'The Academy' is 3 hours of your life you'll never get back. 7. Whether or not you get your days off in any given week is at the discretion of the management (again, if you get upset by this you're simply reminded how easily replaceable you are). 8. You only have 2 guaranteed days off a year (Christmas Day and Easter Sunday). 9. The company and store takes priority in ALL things. If the store requires you to work 10 hour shifts everyday for weeks on end and not see your family in that time period, so be it. Again, if you take exception to this you're reminded how easily replaceable you are. There are plenty more, but you get the idea.

Pros

Stable job. Room for progression if you are willing & able.

Cons

Pay at Section Leader level could be better, given all the responsibility.
