Pros

Worked for DIRECTV for four years. They cared about employee satisfaction. Appreciated their employee talent as an asset. Awesome benefits and discounts. Great culture and work environment.

Cons

Complete 180 shift after the AT&T take over. Layoffs, increased workload/decreased staff, unrealistic expectations, negative culture, overworked/underappreciated. After seeing how AT&T operates, it's a wonder they are still in business or that I can even make a phone call! Once having great relationships with managment, they were actually told to NOT be friendly with staff any longer. I probably would have stayed with DIRECTV until retirement. Was relieved to be laid off. Not very good employee satisfaction when majority of staff is hoping for a layoff and looking for other work. They have lost some of their most valuable talent and a wealth of knowledge. At least a few people leaving the company a month. Employees are no longer viewed as assets, rather an expense. It's really very sad.

Pros

Pay is decent. You get to experience and sample the latest technology and devices.

Cons

The company sends down objectives and goals from the top...Some of these are unreasonable and that makes management(who get threatened with their jobs if metrics aren't met) ask their reps to do unethical and down right wrong things to screw over and manipulate their customers. Some in management even condoned the "Slamming" of accounts(adding monthly paid services to customers accounts without them knowing) to boost their monthly metrics. Many times I had followed through with the unethical demands from my RSM to keep their numbers up so that their ARSM's numbers would look good for the big bosses only out of blind loyalty and job security. Management, to not hurt their store metric rating for credits applied to accounts, even made us use the tactic of "I'll put you on the phone with customer service to take that service off your account that you didn't authorize" to take care of upset customers instead of doing it themselves. Honestly, I can go on for hours with all the immoral junk they had us do but I would rather not waste my time. There is a reason they are rated worst in customer service year after year compared to their peers so steer clear of this horrible company for a place of employment and for its services.

Pros

a regular paycheck is about all one can say

Cons

some employees are subjected to such repeated extreme bullying & harassment -they can barely concentrate on their jobs to do right by the consumer.Property damage, abuse of sensitive persons w heavy duty cleaning chemicals, ugly commentary. The senior manager condones & supports bullying of employees who are not her ethnic group- Its daily, its constant & if you complain they will turn it around on you "How dare you not do a good job while we are harassing you ! You're the problem " It is an completely out of control environment , where everyday we have to watch our backs . It is a hell on earth, when all we want is to peacefully do our jobs.
