Going down hill...

Pros

Directv was always known for good pay, great bonus and stock options for directors and above. But with the acquisition by T that is going away and so will the talent. There are many interesting projects to work on and the technical team is very knowledgeable and great to work with.

Cons

Long hours... if you are on a high priority project than you can expect to work nonstop. Highly political environment. Many silos to navigate throughout the enterprise.

Pros

I'm not sure there were any Pros

Cons

Long hours by force because that is what it took. They requested your opinion but did not like it when it didn't match their opinion. Harshly chastised when something did not go right or as management wanted, even when you said in the beginning if we don't do X, Y or Z this is what can/will happen.

Pros

Benefits, virtual office, and flexible hours. Great career opportunities for successful sales people.

Cons

If you're not in sales, look somewhere else. Thankless work environment for program & project managers and engineers. Completely sales-driven organization recognizes only one kind of performance -- new business. Only path to advancement, senior positions and executive offices is through successful sales. Customer satisfaction, business retention, project performance & quality count for very little here.
