Pros

Pension after two years, if you sink low enough to make it.

Cons

Work from home is not allowed. Hybrid work environment is not allowed. Management does not care and won't change that. Great employees are leaving because of that.

Pros

Compensation is on par with other large pharma companies. Overall there is lots of innovation and a strong work ethic at AbbVie but this varies from team to team. Management aims to promote from within so there are ample opportunities for employees to transition into new roles with more responsibilities.

Cons

Incentives like RSUs and 401k matching have long vesting schedules to encourage employee retention. Leaving the company can come at a serious cost of un-vested compensation. The company is unnecessarily top heavy with lots of middleman management consuming most of the resources. Performance expectations are high, necessitating significantly more than a 40-hour work week.
