Pros

If you survive here, you survive everywhere

Cons

Training is not clear and does not cover everything. Analyst is left on his/her own after training is finished. There is no clear instructions what to do on the daily basis. Access to the documentation is complicated, it is very hard to find any SOP or TM A lot of knowledge is past on from analyst to analyst without backup in GMP documentation Layout of the lab is confusing, you have to walk miles to perform simple tasks. Blame culture, it is always analyst fault, management is demanding and rude. No appreciation for analyst work, no bonuses or rewards. Pay is very low, men are paid more than women. Unless you desperate don't come here.

COVID Reveals True Colors

Pros

Good Compensation Structure. Short and long term benefits.

Cons

-Abbvie 'culture' -"We have employees safety first and foremost" could not be more false and hypocritical. The emphasis and importance placed on being in the office for roles that do not require, in any fashion, to be physically present is truly remarkable, disturbing, and really just sad. -In the typical Abbvie elitist mindset, the leaders believe we are above the pandemic and can simply ignore it. It is clear now they believe not being in the office is hurting business (despite evidence to the contrary) and that forcing knowledge employees to go back to normal office culture will solve sales problems that have nothing to do with being face-to-face in a conference room and everything to do with external factors such as.... you guessed it... the PANDEMIC happening! -VP and above self-perception of immortal omnipotent beings yet all are afraid to voice a dissenting opinion to anyone above them. This is a Yes-man/woman environment. -Profits over all else mentality despite an above-average attempt to mask it with patient-centric propaganda machine firing on all cylinders internally and externally. I can't stress this point enough. COVID has clearly revealed Abbvie does not care about anything besides profits with respect to employees and patients.

Pros

When I went to work in Oncology at AbbVie, I was very interested in working on Rare Disease again and their molecular program was presented as impressive. Upon arrival it was immediate dissent. The CEO gave notice, several employees just didn't show up but sent emails that they were quitting due to a lack of structure or management. I stayed because Oncology is a an area of interest for me.

Cons

I left after being mis-managed and having to manage the verbal and psychological abuse the leads and director dumped on all their employees. The Director (a male) made sexist, and racist comments openly and often left meeting with staff jaws open. This company has/had a good reputation for staff and culture, but just a scratch and you can see it for what it is. BAD
