Toxic culture. At AbbVie, most positions are filled (awarded) to individuals because they had a friends in the right places. It’s not what you know, but who you know that gets you up the ladder at AbbVie. Working at AbbVie was honestly like living in a sorority house. My boss was unbelievably incompetent. But because she had friends in Sr. Management, her job was secure. Furthermore, she managed to not work most Friday’s while her direct reports busted their behinds. My boss was also very insensitive (homophobic?) She managed to address me as “Hey Lady” (I’m male, BTW) in front of a room of co-workers. Talk about awkward! Work Life Balance-HORRIBLE. Avg hours worked each week 60+ hours.
