Pros

Cons

GTIN is simple outsourcing of data intensive dumb work from US .It wont be consulting at all.U will be just makings ppts and excell sheets. No real learning from career points of view.Loads of politics ..if ur manager is happy ..ur exceptional or else u r good for nothing. thy say that they r management consulting but mostly GTIN does low end IT consulting that too pertains to data intensive work...loads of politics please note this all is for GTIN ..things are different for india business consulting

Pros

1. Travel Points (flight, hotel, car) 2. Compensation is pretty good, and the benefits packages are decent 3. Location flexibility - you can basically live anywhere and do the same job 4. The intelligence of employees is very high (engineers, finance/econ types, etc) 5. Can work from home on Fridays or while on mobile projects 6. Lots of training available via internal resources 7. Very culturally diverse workforce, especially on the East Coast (not so much out West) 8. If played right, an opportunity to really make a difference in some of the world's largest companies 9. Great electronic communication tools (office communicator, outlook web server, mobile email) 10. Great resume builder - will get you into most b-schools and has good brand equity with headhunters and employers worldwide

Cons

1. No real positive reinforcement or validation for things done well - only criticism and highlighting the "pain points" 2. Searching for roles on projects is largely a self-started effort with little formal support from project managers and HR staff 3. Performance reviews are often a popularity contest due to the "laddering" system 4. The consultants, especially at lower levels, tend to overcomplicate simple things and throw others under the bus in the name of looking good and/or impressing senior management 5. There is a culture of "one-upsmanship" among consultants; constant pressure to outperform peers, sometimes at their expense (i.e. taking credit for someone else's work without giving them any) 6. Work-life balance is only lip service - long hours, often unnecessary ones, are par for the course 7. Lack of diversity of thought - there is a lot of groupthink at Accenture 8. The value of some projects is questionable - a little bit of nickel-and-diming here and there 9. Not a place for introverts or laid-back personalities - personal selling and skill marketing is constant, as you perpetually have to prove yourself and have people "know what you know" 10. Not an career conducive to keeping a marriage/relationship or being attentive to a family

Pros

Accenture is a global company, and for some reason that I can't really understand, it has a lot of prestigious clients in its portfolio. This is a good thing, because it will give you plenty of exposure to MUCH better places to work, and will allow you to shop for a new employer. Also, if you like the meaningless pursuit of activities such as drinking, partying and other "high school" level fun, you'll love ACN. Management truly believe that this is the only reward they need to supply you in exchange of the amazingly high amount of free overtime you'll be doing for them.

Cons

That's a funny question.... Let me be blunt: unless you're right out of college, away from any other better places to work, not interested in work-life balance and willing to give the company access to EVERY hour you have (including evenings and weekends), with poor benefits and incredibly incompetent managers, stay away from Accenture.
