Stay far away! (Accenture Toronto)

Pros

Absolutely nothing. Too long didn’t read; go to Deloitte. Don’t bother applying or interviewing here.

Cons

Without a doubt the worst and most highly dysfunctional place I’ve ever worked at in my entire career. Stay far away from this company unless you like being treated like garbage and enjoy being underpaid. Abusive (and disgustingly overpaid) senior management, inflated egos, corrupt and weak HR. Went to UofT and no work experience? Great! You will make significantly more than those with experience. Hard to count the number of people who actually care about you and your career development. It’s all about favouritism. Accenture preaches this “non-hierarchal model” and got rid of offices, yet there are special seats reserved for senior managers and the new CEO has taken up a meeting room and called it his own office when we already severely lack meeting spaces! He also has office staff running personal errands for him on a daily basis. Sad! That is just one fine example of how poorly treated office staff are. Analyst? You’re on the same boat. Newsflash to management: Slavery is over! I should also add that this new office that they are so proud of is so poorly designed. There are not enough meeting rooms and when you request one, special treatment is given to senior management. So many people are unhappy working here no matter which role, career level or how long they’ve been at Accenture. Accenture only cares about its image as it’s portrayed externally. Screams volumes that so many HR staff have up and left. It’s the same complaint over and over. Poor management, underpaid. It’s funny, Accenture prides itself in being one of the best consulting firms in the world yet can’t get their act together internally. Word of advice: go to Deloitte.

Pros

Access to top clients, industry leaders. Premium international classroom trainings and large training budget.

Cons

Personality and sould killer environment. After a couple of years of Accenture background consultants become cynical, exhausted robots. You see victims of the system or unnecessarily inhumane, cruel "winners" of the Accenture roleplay. Terribly bureaucratic, badly organized and technically obsolete corporate support functons and tools. Salaries are nowhere compared to the invested working time and stress. It's a scam, an illusion that you are becoming part of something grandiose. The truth is you lose sense of what a fulfilling work is like and you adjust to the ratrace you see around you.
