One day recently, out of the blue, the HR called me that I am being laid off due to the shortage of upcoming projects for the time being. Although this brought me quite a shock and disappointment but I made myself to understand the situation and accepted it.
Apparently they gave me the compensation just at minimum amount as defined the law. I was thinking to myself that with my hard working and all my dedication so far along with the reputation of the company they would have given me much more than that. It turned out that they looked at as minimum amount as they must pay. Note that the company did not loose capital that year or the year earlier, in fact they had earned a lot of money from my past projects. This brought me great disappointment to this used-to beloved company.
At the time of signing off, the HR tried to talk good to me and promised to quickly proceed things for me (without my asking in fact) but none of them ever happened in timely manner at all. The compensation where they promised to pay by next middle-month but it didn't happen until the next month end. In fact this amount must have been given right at the time the employee signed off. The certification letter of employment was delayed for over a month without explanation. This caused me a lot burden as I needed it for my job application but they did not seem to be enthusiastic at all. Also the last month payslip and the withholding tax certification which never received in time but I had to politely ask them and kept following up on and on.
I had to say that I am terribly disappointed with this reputable company. I found many smaller companies I used to work with had much eagerness and sincerity in which they treated ex-employees fairly with sympathy. I feel so regretful for everything I had been dedicating for this company along my incumbency.
Will never recommend this company to anyone. This is not a place worth to work and die for. You will be eligible to be dumped anytime when you have no use to them.
