Pros

You’ll learn more in a year here than you might learn in three years somewhere else. It’s a fast-paced environment where you’re trusted with real responsibility early on. The culture pushes ownership, problem solving, and using data to make decisions. If you like operating at a high level and seeing immediate impact from your work, it’s a great place to build strong leadership and operational skills. There’s also a lot of opportunity to move around if you perform.

Cons

It can be intense. The pace doesn’t really slow down, especially during peak. Metrics drive everything, which can sometimes make the job feel transactional. Work-life balance can be tough depending on your site and role. Expectations are high, and you’re expected to figure things out quickly, even when resources are tight.

Pros

Amazon is one of the best places to build deep operational and leadership capability. The scale, complexity, and pace at which problems are solved is unmatched. You get exposure to large, real-world systems where decisions have visible customer and business impact. The culture emphasizes data-driven decision-making, ownership, and high standards. Leaders are empowered to take responsibility early, and there is strong rigor around metrics, process design, and continuous improvement. If you want to learn how to operate at scale, manage ambiguity, handle peak-driven businesses, and make tough trade-offs under pressure, Amazon provides an exceptional environment. The learning curve is steep but extremely rewarding.

Cons

The environment is demanding and fast-paced, which may not suit everyone. Expectations are high, and the operating cadence can be intense, especially during peak periods. The culture favors results and ownership, so individuals looking for a slower or less structured environment may find it challenging.
