Pros

One of the most innovative companies on earth! This is an exciting place to work, always something new and challenging. The pay is highly competitive, the talent I work with on a daily basis is astounding, and the culture is outstanding. Very customer focused!

Cons

There are not alot of "pay grades" at Amazon, so this isn't the place for people who are looking to get promoted every year. Titles here tend to be modest in comparison to the level of responsibility. But the amount of opportunity, and the pay within each pay grade, more than makes up for that gap.

Pros

Lots of autonomy and ability to run your teams as you see best.

Cons

Top -down driving of SVP Goals leads to misalignment among teams and no clear ownership (when shared) which leads to a lot of churn and wasted sense of urgency. Everyone working on a goal because it's an "STEAM" or "SVP" goal - not because it's necessarily the "right" goal..
