Pros

Competitive Salary/Compensation and good learning opportunity. You can easily change teams within Amazon.

Cons

I started working in Amazon 3 years ago and from that time I have seen company has evolved a lot. The politics in company increased tremendously. Amazon has a internal feedback tool through which people can post reviews anonymously about any employee. The review is SBI (Situation, Behavior and Impact) based and is totally managed by your Manager. If you are not in good terms with your Manager or you do not have chemistry with your Manager then he/she can totally screw up your career at Amazon. Even though Amazon says it is data driven performance measurement of employee but still there are lot of ways your Manager can play around with it and highlight anything bad someone has mentioned about you. As the tool asks you both employee strength and weakness. I would suggest anyone new joining the company beware of this.. Be prepared to loose your work life balance. You will be working every evening (there is no end to emails/escalations) and almost every weekend.. You are expected to respond to emails even when you are on vacation or personal time off or sick at Amazon. No work life balance...

Pros

Emphasis on executing quickly. Vocally self-critical, not afraid to challenge the status quo. People are generally passionate about their work. Good stock bonuses.

Cons

Toxic individuals and prevalence of bad behavior. Favoritism. Brutal treatment of newer hires. Jockeying for "good" projects. Typical stuff really, but I had an especially bad experience. Don't weigh my opinion more than anyone else's.

Pros

Interesting company, some really cool & innovative products

Cons

They treat you like piece of..... Respect is not one of their leadership principles. Once you are hired, you might get assigned to something else you were interviewed for. Especially if you are a foreign employee whose work permit is tied to Amazon, they know that they can make you do anything they like as you cannot run away.
