Pros

Tons of autonomy, customer obsession, investment in employees. Feels more like a startup than a large company, in a great way. The leadership principles (or core values) are valued all the way up and down the management chain. I've worked at plenty of places where this is just theatrics. But it is not the case here.

Cons

With autonomy and trust leads to a lot of teams building different systems. There's no standards, which is fantastic, but it can lead to a lot to wrap your head around.

Pros

Ownership and freedom to pursue your ideas. Ability to set expectations on your own terms.

Cons

Some team are better than others. As with any large company, your first team can be a hit or miss. But Amazon more than makes up for this by not one allowing freedom of movement between teams, but also encouraging cross-pollination of ideas.
