Pros

A lot of autonomy and opportunities, you can shape your career and be hugely successful if driven, even as junior engineer. At AWS, you can build systems at huge scale and the company's architecture and structure provides guardrails - you can still screw up and learn from your mistake but the blast radius is usually limited.

Cons

Rarely, but it can be unnecessarily intense or confrontational, especially when it comes to head count allocation or finding "next-level" (promotion) projects. I didn't experience within team competition but it's frequent across teams.

Pros

The stock price. (if you are lucky enough to get any RSUs anymore)

Cons

Leadership that seemingly only cares about the stock price rather than their employees and their well being
