Pros

If you need a virtual job I guess this is what you can get. This used to be a good company a few years ago and maybe it will revert back to that one day. Just didn't hold your breath

Cons

Bonus, incentive, revenue have all been capped at incredibly low amounts and made virtually impossible to receive. Metrics are micromanaged down to the second. The role is no longer white glove concierge/customer service, it's now rush to book travel, ignore everything else and hurry to the next call. There's no personalization as they've taken away any time for it. The company has moved backwards and treats customer facing agents like dirt in both compensation and moral Be aware that you will receive "consequence" emails multiple times a day and reminded multiple times a day that you can be fired for basically breathing. Also learn to work through breaks and lunches and stay hours after you've clocked off to try and catch up so you don't get "coachings" on how bad your numbers are Learn to comfort coworkers as they break down in tears and mental breakdowns hourly.

Pros

Great benefits such as PTO (you can purchase additional days for a small fee), 10 free mental health sessions, great health insurance, free hotel stays, IATA certification, VTO

Cons

When i started I was told we would work with Platinum card members, sure enough they set us up for the okie doke and I actually service ALL cardmembers. For the same salary previous agents only did for one card product. Other departments do not like to assist us, impossible metrics, no one I know has received the “bonus” because of impossible, ever changing metrics. We are burnt out from call volume and having to call the hotels, airlines and other services. Wayyyy too much responsibility for a travel agent. Less about booking trips and more about cleaning messes

Pros

AMEX overall is an amazing company. I sometimes have survivors guilt because the benefits are great, the company is inclusive. It's easy to move around the company and learn different aspects of what we do.

Cons

Specifically the Centurion servicing department is a nightmare. Joining Amex was the best career move I've ever made and the move to Centurion is the worst. It's unorganized, disjointed and exploitative. It was very falsely advertised. My trust in Amex has been broken by Centurion Servcing
