Pros

There are no good reasons to join this company in Australia. I've heard its good in NY?

Cons

VP/GM level bully and micro-manage leaders Engagement scores across the business are low due to incompetent leadership team Management / HR have zero ability to handle performance / behavioural issues Management lets situations fester which contributes to a toxic culture Employees are punished for giving feedback that is anything less than perfect Management write cheques to part with good talent to avoid changing the culture Management lies to Head Office NY about its coverage and growth results Management will hire you for your experience and new ideas but then once you're in the role doesn't know what to do with it and will reject anything other than the way its always been done. If you join from an external employer you will leave within the first 12 months and Management will tell everyone you weren't performing or had behavioural issues and if they read this they will say clearly a disgruntled employee

Pros

* Strong brand, innovative payment products and marketing * Good health insurance coverage at reasonable rates * Work remotely

Cons

* Below average base salary compared to banks * Commission structure is misleading due to significant haircuts on declining margins and product mix * Highly political culture and favoritism * Excessive layers of management and militant style of leadership * Negative repercussions if you challenge the status quo * Unrealistic sales targets, particularly in first two years, and quick/discrimminatory decision in terminating folks not achieving goals * Inefficient processes and integration across pricing, credit, and contract management, resulting in slow decision times and lost business * Continuous changes in org structure and leadership inhibits momentum and perpetuates the politics

Pros

Work from home. Good pay and benefits. Great vacation and sick time policy. If you like to sell this is for you. You get to help card members and some of them are great.

Cons

Too much pressure for sales. Software systems are horrible and metric expectations are unrealistic given what we have to work with. If you're not in the top 30% you can forget getting a decent schedule you'll like. Customer surveys carry too much weight and there is no appeal process to remove surveys that are negative even when they aren't your fault (i.e. customers mad about company policy you can't change, a survey that was for someone else but it got counted under your name).
