It is no longer a great place to work, unless you can't find another job and are desperate.
Pros
You get paid a salary and you have a place to go instead of the unemployment line. It is close to my home, so I do not have to drive very far. I like the cafeteria food.
Cons
The medical insurance plan is awful, we have a huge deductible and the dental plan is average. They work you to death! Information and paperwork overload! Every second is timed by the computer and the more dedication you show, the more work you get. Forms, forms and more forms to fill out even while you are on the phone trying to give card members excellent service! When you don't participate in certain things that require you to be off the phone, your team leader tells you that you 'are not engaged' -then when you are off the phones to 'be engaged' they tell you you are off the phone too long!! You must do as you are told and never ever question anything, even though all around the building there are signs that read "speak up speak out"- god forbid you should discuss an issue/problem with someone other than YOUR supervisor. You will be considered a trouble maker because the supervisors tell each other who the trouble makers are. Amex does not care about employees even though they say they do; you truly get brainwashed from day one.
