Pros

Ability to work from home and excellent tech equipment. Reimbursement of phone and internet was nice.

Cons

Micro-management: you shouldn't have a remote workforce if managers aren't going to be trained to trust their team. You shouldn't dread seeing an email or hangout come in from management. Terrible work-life balance. Expected to always be available to clients, despite EST to PST timezone differences or even on sick days. No career paths, professional development was discouraged, limited opportunities to grow.

Pros

The interview process was excellent and the people seemed really great as well.

Cons

I was hired to be a Consultant for Appirio. I went through the interview process, which was stellar but after that, that is when things took a turn. We agreed on a start date, I left my current company and that night, which was the business day prior to starting at Appirio, I received a phone call from them saying they were going to push my start date back nearly two months, due to lack of pipeline. We eventually agreed on a new start date and from there on, I was very turned off. The new employee onboarding process is basically non existent. There was very little training and no real direction/guidance outside of a few items. My mentor quit the company a few weeks after they were assigned to me and was never assigned a new one. The training was a series of very long and boring training videos recorded the most monotone person I have ever heard. Not engaging and were all several hours in length. Following these long and drawn out training videos were a series of tests that you needed to pass to become certified on the product, however, some more hands on training would have been great or even some sort of communication with the company we were implementing, to shadow, shares best practices, etc., but this was also non existent. I left Appirio a while ago and I still think back to my experiences I had, which did seem to be isolated to me and I think of how disappointed I was with everything!

Pros

They seem to be bringing jobs for new grads to Indiana but not many other 'Pros' to mention.

Cons

Position was sold with alot of potential for growth and development in an exciting space (cloud computing). 1st quarter was horrible. Lack of direction by management. no clear career-path provided. The clients i worked with where horrible. I was added as a resource after another dev rolled off. Was treated like 2nd class citizen by the other 'team' members. The scrum team I was placed on didn't help bring me up to speed and alot of the development issues were pinned on me. The culture is a drinking atmosphere and there is little to no room for you if you don't drink. Conference rooms named after micro brewed beers fridge always stocked with wine and beer. Also there is no tolerance for viewpoints or lifestyles that are conservative in nature. If you are a family oriented person, be warned that you will be singled out and ridiculed. This is an LGBT friendly environment, Caveat Emptor.
