Pros

Some of the people were nice. Some had the skills necessary to perform their roles.

Cons

Out of the 10 people in my work group, I would only recommend 4 to any company looking to hire quality employees. There is no room for advancement in this company unless someone retires. Even then, a high-level position may be filled by someone with absolutely no experience in your field because ATI wants to keep the institutional knowledge from leaving and needs a way to give them a raise but cannot create the headcount in their department. Vegas management does that "headcount shuffle" so they don't have to ask Australia permission to increase resources. The Management plays the "blame game". Employees are not given clear direction or information needed to succeed. Feedback, if given, is vague. If you are looking to keep any skill sets up-to-date with the outside workforce, do not work here. The Casino Management Software platform is out of date, the project management process doesn't meet industry standards, and there isn't a Quality Assurance Department (although the jobs have been posted for a few years now) so you are testing your software in production. When you think about leaving the company or are "future endeavored", contact an employment lawyer because HR will screw you over with paying out benefits. My best advice to anyone thinking of working for this company; DON'T. If you can't find anything else, then document everything! Keep logs of all the harassment from management, coworkers, and HR. Also be warned, IT will read your emails and chat logs.

Pros

Excellent on-site benefits, casual working environment, pool table, flexible hours There has been some change for the better, such as improved tools and technologies used in our everyday work.

Cons

Very archaic and inefficient processes. Managers like to talk about putting quality first when in fact they place a priority on speed of delivery (whilst sacrificing quality). Infighting and ridiculous politics among cross-functional teams. Too many silos. Culture of shifting blame on to other teams rather than finding a solution or accepting responsibility. Way too much middle management, not enough actual workers.

Pros

Close work between Developers and Artists, easy access to Platform team. Good benefits and pay.

Cons

Clique-style management, where employees are tools to make managers look good, rather than people making games for the enjoyment of others. Local management is easily swayed by hearsay and supposition without evidence, from both local team members as well as non-team members in Vegas and India studio branches. Insurmountable level of tech debt in all titles inherited from design studios, not allowed to clean code, only pass the failure to whoever is next in line and hope it doesn't blow up on your watch. Fear of new technologies and techniques anachronistic to the industry. Minimal automation and poor QA management from Vegas studio causes very real development bottlenecks constantly over inane issues.
