Pros

Vibrant, dynamic, growing business with an appetite to do more, Aristocrat has provided me and my team fantastic opportunities to learn and grow at the same time as making a meaningful contribution to the business. It is a truly global organisation, headquartered in Sydney with operations across the globe (mainly in the US, in Vegas and Nashville). With an employee base of approximately 3,000 it is large enough to provide real opportunities for career path progression, while being small enough to get to know who's who quickly.

Cons

The North Ryde location is the key downside for me - not a great place to commute to when you're used to working in the CBD, but this is more than outweighed by the upside of working in a place where interesting stuff happens all the time and there are opportunities to travel internationally to some great locations.

Pros

- Cultural fit is important to the business. I believe that people make a company and we have a very good “People” culture here which is important to me to work with like-minded people. - In regards to my job, as a Project Manager wanting to develop I am given the freedom to work with my manager to ensure the projects I am working on suit my abilities and allow me to develop. - Bonus related pay is also something that attracted me to Aristocrat. In my role as a project manager I need to be accountable, this give me the freedom to be in charge in of my own destiny. i.e If I put in the effort and push myself, I will be rewarded. Likewise, if I am not putting in the effort this is also reflected. Gives me an extra incentive to push myself - Flexibility in my work. Output driven and “watch the clock”. This allows me to ensure I get the correct work/life balances and gives me flexibility when needed if life sometimes get in the way. Ability to work remotely if required by giving advance notice to me line manager. - Development, Aristocrat really encourage and enforce development which is great for me. Stretch goals are developed and agreed with my line manager and myself. Not forced upon you and unachievable. As a project manager I am currently learning different methodology to allow me to determine the best approach to each project. Not only did I investigate and choose the accredited training with certification, I am now applying this training by working with other project managers within the business who are experienced in this area. Back to the culture here, colleagues are always willing to help me develop and actively assist me in achieving this. - Its also great in our building that we have games in our breakout area such as pool, table tennis and arcade games. We are all guilty of spending way too long in front of our computer screens and this is a great way of getting that much needed break from this. Again, colleagues who have an interest in the games regularly arrange competitions for us to participate in both during lunch/after work etc.. - Aristocrat puts a lot of effort into Charitable work, something tat is not always top of my list in my daily life. This allows to give back to local charities etc.. and we are given the time to do this during the working week.

Cons

Location - North Ryde is a bit of a pain to travel for me given where I live.
