      Big company with big problems

      Pros

      Good salary for the market. Possibility to work with very high-end technologies. Long career in the company if you survive the managers scrutiny.

      Cons

      Full of arrogant mid-managers that never opened a design in life. Your experience really depends on your manager, and not all of them follow the HR recommendations, mainly the older ones. Many departments operate in silos. If you had a problem with your manager, you're screwed because that goes to your profile and it will reflect on your whole working life in the company. Every 5 years they purge the system and promote massive layoffs. In 2018, 200 people were "invited" to leave the company. The company has massively changed since SoftBank takeover, mostly for bad.

      Change within companies can be challenging, it’s true that Arm is no longer a small start-up business, but a 7000+ organisation that touches the lives of more than 70% of the world’s population through technology.       Confusion about Software Requirements versus Hardware Architecture and Design

      Pros

      Some people are really great engineers with a lot of creativity and experience.

      Cons

      Too many people assume they know much more than they do. In computer chip design (CPU/GPU/etc) the challenges are in "the details". Architects are more marketing agents and are out of touch with hardware fundamentals and meaningful modeling. Architectural requirements are never properly justified and lead to grave misery for designers who must pick up the pieces and deliver a working product.

      Good work life balance but stability is cocern

      Good work life balance. Decent pay

      Cons

      I am a full time employee of ARM from 8 year. But now it is very uncertain . Vision is not clear and any time layoff can happen. One layoff just recently happen. Layoff was done very brutally. Employee were not given time to collect their personal belongings. Iteration rate is already very high this year and layoff might have ripple effect. ARM is not best paying company but known for their job stability but now that is not the case.
