It’s encouraging to hear that you’re enjoying the balance between challenging work, flexibility and benefits at Arm. We aim to provide an environment where people can do their best work without compromising life outside the office. On reward, our approach is to remain competitive and equitable while recognising that not every company will benchmark the same way as FAANGs. We want to attract and retain extraordinary teams through more than just salary, with opportunities to develop, shape the future of computing and work at global scale. If you’d like to discuss your own reward package, please reach out to the People team.

Pros

Cambridge is nice Reputable company Possibility of internal moves

Cons

If you're a compiler engineer or a software engineer joining a compiler team under CE-SW, please reconsider. Upper management are known to play favourites, hold on to toxic employees, you can complain a million times about bullying and discrimination but the ones who bully and discriminate are not held accountable since they are friends of the managers. The diversity of the teams are on the decline and when these issues are raised the response is usually “there's nothing we can do”. I would stay away unless you're hired based on a personal connection to the engineering managers.

We’re sorry to read about your experience on the compiler side of the business. Bullying and discrimination are not acceptable at Arm, and we take these concerns extremely seriously. Diversity, equity and inclusion are central to how we operate, and the behaviours you describe do not reflect the culture we are committed to building. Please raise this directly with the People team or with Ethics so the issues can be properly investigated; if you prefer, you can also reach out via glassdoor@arm.com with more detail. Your feedback matters, and we want to understand it fully.

Great to hear your first few months in Manchester have been so positive. You highlight both the culture and the cutting-edge work, which are central to the experience we want people to have at Arm. It’s still early days, and as you continue to settle in we hope you’ll keep finding the mix of challenge, support, and opportunity that makes a career here rewarding. Thanks for taking the time to share your perspective so early in your journey.
