The Company Has Lost The Plot

The Company offers a free counciling service to employees. There is a large take up of this due to working conditions that verge on intolerable yet remain within employment law.

Cons

Incompetent senior managers. Cottage industry made of performance management. Yet no budget available to reward high performers. Lost the focus on science. Hare brain scheme to relocate R&D to Cambridge. Wasted lots of money.

Benefits, competitive pay Company cares about work/life balance The new leadership (C level at the very top) seems to care, and is enthusiastic

Cons

A constant cycle or re-organzations have left the IS/IT workforce jaded and demoralized. Morever, over-reliance on outsourcing have decimated critical IT capabilities (but not surprisingly, the politically astute bureacrats continue to survive and prosper in such re-orgs). That along with the mind-numbing bureacracy and a cornucopia of outsourced service providers, has ensured that that the more skilled and creative employees have either left, or volunteered for redundancy. The only people who are really interested is sticking around now are those with big pensions waiting at the end of the line.

Good base salary, good benefits, nice cars

Cons

If you need someone to watch over you and tell you what to do, then this is the place for you. They changed their selling module within my division and caused a complete overkill of reps calling on the same doctors with the same product lineups and weighting
