Pros

The AZ Pipeline is strong

Cons

Office attendance now required at 3 days minimum, UK & US tracked and monitored. Warned to be on target or expect disciplinary action. Managers must also adhere or risk disciplinary & losing bonus. Sad state of affairs with employees noticeably suffering due to personal situations. Managers hands are tied. Capable employees leaving.

Pros

*Robust pre-clinical discovery programs (quality and number) *Talent below Director level (although eroding with high turnover rates) *Immune Oncology portfolio *Great clinical teams *Strong core groups (although quite understaffed)

Cons

*Dysfunctional leadership at the very top (high nepotism and cronyism practices) *Some of the lowest work morale in the industry (driving high employee turnover rates) *Inability of leadership to focus and execute against portfolio (high micromanagement practices) *Promotions based on popularity contest instead of accomplishments and qualifications *Failure of leadership to manage expectations and deliverables from core clinical support groups (e.g., PK, Tox, Ops, etc) versus translational medicine (e.g., Ph1-2 early development clinical sciences, iMED and translational medicine) *Inability of leadership to provide vision and definitive goals

Pros

1. Benefits package 2. Some departments have amazing people, it's a lottery though, particularly with regards to management. 3. Diversity and inclusion. Don't misunderstand, they are not an amazingly inclusive place, they just treat everyone poorly.

Cons

1. Management is toxic, insecure, ineffective, incapable of doing their jobs to a rudimentary level and very behind the times. 2. No flexibility to working, current minimum mandatory 3 days on site (likely to increase to full time on site working), despite the building not having anywhere near enough space. 3. Career progression is poorly managed and you will be expected to fulfil the duties of higher grades (yes plural) with no recognition or compensation, often for years. It is possible to progress but it comes at the cost of any work-life balance you may have hoped for, and probably your health. 4. Management believes everyone is replaceable so they make no real effort to deal with reasonable concerns or problems. So essential skills and knowledge is being lost at an alarming rate. 5. Those great benefits, like bonus and LTI shares are held over you like a sword of Damocles. They can and will reduce them, even if you hit all of your goals and targets and there is no review process. 6. Management, because they are just that bad!!
