You'll be okay if you know what you want and aren't afraid to ask for it
Pros
Avanade is a global company so there are lots of opportunities to travel. There are career advancement opportunities. If you get a career manager who has been with the company for a while, they have a lot of clout and can help you advance. Avanade has a ton of clients so each project is different - this is great if you like variety. The pay is generous, as is the $2,000 extended benefits allowance every year to spend on things like gym memberships, travel, commuting costs, hobbies, etc.
Cons
You may have to travel, even if you aren't thrilled about leaving your family. Avanade will probably stop stack ranking employees in 2016, but the process by which employees are stack ranked is very hush-hush and depends a lot on who knows you and your work. Your career manager is essentially your only advocate for career advancement, so you have to be careful what you share with them (i.e. don't tell them you're unhappy in your position, if that's the case).
