Not a place I would recommend to under any circumstance

Pros

Avanade provides good training if you are relatively new to working with Microsoft technologies and products.

Cons

Not any better than working at a body shop firm Projects can go very badly and there is little if any recognition on the part of management and no action on the part of management The sales people don't seem to know or care what they are selling. They don't have to implement it. Travel can be ridiculous. I worked on an east coast project with people who lived on the west coast. No work-life balance.

Pros

Microsoft technical training is given to everyone via internal virtual bootcamps, as well as MSDN access for everyone.

Cons

The management can be less than awe-inspiring - this stems from an Accenture based model that seems to focus less on quality and repeat business and more on "how many bodies can we staff at once".

Pros

This is a great company with great people. There are many benefits to being a child company of Accenture and Microsoft. It was a great place to start my consulting career and I would recommend it to anyone that can withstand the impact to their life when it comes to travel.

Cons

Travel, plain and simple. I thought I could handle it, and I did for a while, but it took it's toll on myself and my wife. In the end it just wasn't a good fit.
