Pros

Constant challenges of being a rapid growth company. upon eaching a billion dollars in less than 10 years with a global footprint, there are still many mountains to climb an dragons to slay. Avanade is not for employees wo want to come in day 1 and sill be doing the same job at day 365. With so much work there is rarely a job that an employee should feel is beneath them.

Cons

Balancing work and life. Some believe Avanade is a life ambition rather than a career. Thoe that enjoy coaching baseball practice or whatever should be very clear about set boundaries and never compromising them because Avanade will test them at every opportunity.

Pros

Avanade provides a great work-life balance along with a tight-knit international community ready to help each other out as necessary. Of course, like any other consultancy, it comes with its share of politics (in particular with Accenture, one of it's parent companies that treats it like an orphaned child), but not enough to deter employees away from enjoying their jobs.

Cons

Projects feel more like staff augmentation as opposed to consulting gigs. There needs to be more emphasis placed on downward communication from above, including information about the future of each region, current and existing projects, etc in order to promote a better understanding of what's going on in other parts of the vast regions that Avanade has.

Pros

Very technology driven. They really support developers and their technical growth. I learned a lot in the 12 months I was there. There were some cool benefits, including a technical spending package of $2000/year on anything techie. Although this was back in 2005 so I'm not sure if they still have this. They paid for my Microsoft Certification in full. I was really grateful for that.

Cons

I worked in the Denver office from 2004-2005. It was very frustrating being there. The pay was very substandard and the senior management played a "buddy" system with their church friends. They seemed to be the only ones that moved up. As far as the corporation as a whole, I don't think it was as bad, but the Denver office really handled things poorly. It was very political.
