      Not a place I would recommend to under any circumstance

      Pros

      Avanade provides good training if you are relatively new to working with Microsoft technologies and products.

      Cons

      Not any better than working at a body shop firm Projects can go very badly and there is little if any recognition on the part of management and no action on the part of management The sales people don't seem to know or care what they are selling. They don't have to implement it. Travel can be ridiculous. I worked on an east coast project with people who lived on the west coast. No work-life balance.

      Good company if you are a PRECISE fit for what they do

      Pros

      Great, smart people who are passionate. Cool things to work on. Feels like the company has a strategy and momentum

      Cons

      The company is somewhat conflicted between strategic goals and what needs to happen in short term to close business. This conflict creates a lot of tension. Also, they say they want to be independent of Accenture (one of two parents, the other is Microsoft) but most efforts tend to favor projects coming from Accenture and there is little willingness to invest in new client development.

      Low pay, poor management, and no work/life balance.

      Pros

      They pay for Microsoft Certs. Overtime pay on top of salary for Analyst levels. Ability to work remotely at times depending on the project.

      Cons

      Below average salary, very poor work/life balance. Not the place to work if you have a family, a social life, or both. The expectation is to work all your waking hours and the weekends if necessary, due to poor estimations and project management. Management is very poor. Can be somewhat of a frat-party. Not a lot of career growth opportunity for your skill position, career paths follow a more general "consultant" flow. They also hire people just to put bodies into positions, even if they don't have all of the necessary skills.
