      Great for work-life balance, not exactly a leading digital innovator

      Pros

      - Most projects are pretty respectful for work-life balance, I rarely worked over 50 hours per week even when traveling - The company pays for all certifications (at least to my knowledge) and is very supportive of employees getting certifications - Career Advisors can be fantastic, but that is dependent on the advisor that you get - You are largely in charge of your career, it seems like the people that get promoted are the ones that go above-and-beyond

      Cons

      - As the title says, Avanade pitches itself as a leading digital innovator. When it comes to consulting firms, probably. When it comes to an actual leading digital innovator, I'd say they're at least 3 years behind - While promotions are largely merit-based, there are some bureaucratic requirements that can hold you back, especially if you get hired in young and well-below what you should've been brought in at - If you don't like to travel 4 days a week, beware! - Most projects here are no cutting edge, especially if you're in the analytics space. Get used to working on Power BI dashboards and basic on-prem -> cloud transformations

Working in consulting is great because of the variety of experiences it provides – but that also means not every project is the same (and some may not feel so “cutting edge”!)       Couldn't have for a better Consulting Agency to work for

      Pros

      Great accelerated learning program for recent graduates. Microsoft technology training. Close relations with Microsoft and Accenture.

      Cons

      Not necessarily a con. But networking is extremely important here. You need to know where you want to be and they will put you there. Find a mentor as soon as possible.

      Awesome experiences

      Pros

      - Travel (even if its just somewhere else in state) - Benefits (401k, health, dental, vision) - Flexible schedule (based on client) - People, all around are amazing individuals that you will work with. Friendly, smart, well rounded. - Plenty of opportunities to grow. In 2 years time I worked with 20 different technology stacks in production environments. - Growth in soft skills will be a round-the-clock thing whether you're aware of it or not. Due to working with a diverse group of people and working with many different clients.

      Cons

      - Too large of a company means that while the team you work with is great, the reality is you are a number to them. - Review processes for promotion/raises is handled by a representative, your CM. If you disagree with how the review process went, there's really nothing you can do besides sing to your CM, and all they can do is shrug because the decision made at the review has been finalized. - Some projects aren't what they make it out to be. Last project I was on was mis-communicated and baked up to be something it wasn't.
