Pros

Great training program. They have a great training program/team who truly cares about building your career

Cons

Unfortunately project execution is a joke. All projects I was in were in some way screwed up either by the Accenture relationship or by poor management practices. They promote based on how hard you work on your last screwed up project so the people that end up leading projects continue the vicious cycle of having to marry your job to get the project done.

Pros

Big companies have specialists to do every type of job function, so good for specialists who don't like to do multiple things, although not a good place for technology generalists for the same reason.

Cons

In my opinion: People are not developed via their archaic stack ranking/quota system. Promotions gained thru popularity and politics and not through skills development. Most executives (SVPs and up) don't get their hands dirty at the customer/project level, yet have all the answers on non-stop internal conference calls. Old boy Accenture / Microsoft nepotism at executive leadership level. If you worked for Microsoft or Accenture 20 years ago and have a relationship, you are qualified to be a CVP or higher at Avanade. Most projects are run by Accenture hard as*es (kindly labeled 'drivers'). These folks will expect you to work all hours due to over-promising, or just because they have nothing better to do but to go back to the hotel. At best you are treated like a sub-contractor and lack a seat at the table. Accenture takes all of the leadership roles on projects, leaving Avanade the individual contributor roles which can limit your growth.

Pros

glassdoor requires that I put in at least 20 words for Pros. But this company has little to no pros. You can imagine why Microsoft loves this company. It's a technology company, that's about the only Pro I can think of.

Cons

One of the worst companies to work for. Pay is very very low, such that it is truly not worth working for. That's because the company's revenue to number of employees ratio is very small. There are many companies big and small in this area who pay double or more than what this company pays. The company is very cheap and does Microsoft's bidding in terms of driving down the pay rate of developers and engineers. Management also lies. They will lure you in, by promising to increase your pay if you show quality work. But that will never happen. The pay raises are an insult. It comes nowhere close to the rate of inflation. If you have a family to feed. This is the last company to work for. Specially with the level of inflation we see these days. To add insult to injury, you will also be Micromanaged. You will not be treated with respect by Management, rather they are quite rude and arrogant. I can write up more Cons, but I believe the two, Very Low Pay and Being Micromanaged, are enough to help those with self respect stay away from this company.
