      Pros

      Best place to get acquainted with Microsoft Products. Avanade is very receptive to new grads/entry level consultants and invests a lot of capital in growth and development of their consultants. Good place to get certified as exams and study materials are subsidized.

      Cons

      Lots of bureaucracy to wade through. Very hard to get the word out to voice concerns and intimidating at times. Expect a lot of bench time if you're a level 20. Expect to relocate or extended travel for some projects with only a portion of costs of transportation subsidized by Avanade.

      A decent place if you don't mind working long hours for mediocre pay

      Pros

      Very technology driven. They really support developers and their technical growth. I learned a lot in the 12 months I was there. There were some cool benefits, including a technical spending package of $2000/year on anything techie. Although this was back in 2005 so I'm not sure if they still have this. They paid for my Microsoft Certification in full. I was really grateful for that.

      Cons

      I worked in the Denver office from 2004-2005. It was very frustrating being there. The pay was very substandard and the senior management played a "buddy" system with their church friends. They seemed to be the only ones that moved up. As far as the corporation as a whole, I don't think it was as bad, but the Denver office really handled things poorly. It was very political.

      Great company, bad pay for college hires

      Pros

      Great people, excellent opportunities, good support. Avanade is a very flexible workplace and it does a great job supporting employees with training opportunities. For those who like variety, Avanade is the place to be. You have a pick of work but as a consultant you will never own it.

      Cons

      Pay is low for entry level employees. College hires are leaving and have left in droves. Avanade pay is painfully low and does not improve appropriately. They get the young people cheap, the guys get the experience and then leave. There is really no reason to stick around.
