OK place to work

Pros

I met some very nice people. It's fine as a temporary place to work or if you just need a job.

Cons

More negative reinforcement than positive reinforcement by many managers (not all). Culture of blaming other people (include politicians/regulators) for problems. It feels like most people are working there for a paycheck rather than working to progress the company forward. Lots of temporary workers who work for years and never seem to get hired. Some people in some departments don't work very hard at all.

Pros

There are genuinely nice people that work there many of them stuck in their position because of the economy.

Cons

Where to begin....I worked for this company for several years. They are more worried about timing exempt and non - exempt employees lunch breaks than how much an individual contributes to the company. The people that are still there from when it was McGaw are grandfathered in to whatever job they want. Even if you are an engineer you can become the head of clinical affairs even if you have no medical background. In most companies this position is held by either a nurse or doctor. HR is really a piece of work in this place. I saw in a previous review a mention of leaked confidential info, that is absolutely true. They can't keep there big gossipy mouths shut. The funny thing is the employees often get written up for speaking about the confidential info that their HR rep told them in the first place The turnover rate is phenomenal largely because there is always someone being targeted by HR. The whole dept should be fired and replaced with competent staff. Many of these people are also "oldtimers" that have been grandfathered in to their positions. Just a word of advice if you are accused of something by one of these dinosaurs HR will take their side...they belong to a special little group and will never let you forget it. If it is something you had nothing to do with you will immediately be accused of being defensive. There is no true care or understanding for the employees. You are peons that cannot possibly be equal to them.

Pros

Stability, performance and company bonuses.

Cons

Bias, double standard, low salary, commanding management. Management expects the subordinate to work like robots. 2 minutes spend replying a text from the phone will give the impression you are not loaded with work.
