Pros

Generally cordial working environment and friendly colleagues. At least on the surface. Good exposure to transactions / M&A work streams. Will definitely be valuable to your overall skills development and career growth, just maybe not within here.

Cons

Below market compensation. Be prepared to deal with a lot of office politics. Culture is set from the top. Progression is dependent on how your superiors see you - mostly impression-based rather than performance-based. No clear and objective guidelines on how to improve performance for supposedly non-performing / underperforming staff. Very clear from the onset who is favored and who is not. Leave if you are in the latter category.

Cons

Work to many hours. Most engagements have partners children and there is strong bias for them. Very much click oriented and lacks diversity in the firm.
